School Leadership Team/PTA Elections June 6th SLT-We need 4 parent members of the school for a two year term, preferably 2 from elementary school and 2 from the MS PTA positions-President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Co-officers are acceptable but these individuals must run together and be voted in as co- officers for a one year term beginning on July 1 st . All parents are eligible to hold office, unless they are employees of the school and must currently have a student attending the school. Parents of incoming students are not eligible. please email nominations to the Nominating Committee- Marjorie Phillips, Mindy Gallagher, Maria Vrachnos at: voteps78pta2018@psis78pta.org.
THE PROJECT! May 17 - 30 The students from 2nd-5th grade at PS/IS 78 DO NOT HAVE AN ART TEACHER LiC-A will be creating this project with the kids so they can have a wonderful experience creating something special together! The completed project will be hung inside the school.

Hailey Richman, the NY State and the National Honoree for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards We are holding a puzzle drive starting May 21 st -June 4 th to support her organization. Puzzles To Remember (www.puzzlestoremember.org), a nonprofit organization, is collecting puzzles to be distributed to nursing homes and memory care facilities for people living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Puzzle- solving is a wonderful activity for people living with Alzheimer’s disease, since it stimulates their brain. We are accepting new and used puzzles that are complete (no missing pieces). Puzzles that have nature or animal themes are recommended. There will be a box in the lobbies of the ECC and Middle School buildings for collection.
SAVE THE DATE- SPRING AUCTION Monday, JUNE 4 th @ SHI 6-9pm Last year we made a net profit of $45,500! We secured almost $20,000 in sponsor donations from our local businesses, over $5100 in ad purchases and over $2000 for our great raffle prizes.
