Reactor Cool-dow n Services

Are developed to accelerate the cool-down process minimizing down time prior to catalyst change and lower the reactor entry temperature for safer and faster work. Basic procedures:

• Using LN2 to cool down the recycle gas (most efficient).
• Once trough method.

After the initial cool-down to temperatures of 150 – 250˚c the accelerated cooldown process will take over and the cool-down rate will be increased using cold Nitrogen gas to temperatures < 40˚c Nitrogen can also be used for the hot stripping of hydrocarbons from the catalyst.

Helium Leak Testing Services

Pressurizing process systems to 95% of the PSV setting using Nitrogen with 1% Helium as a tracer. Flanges will be taped off and checked for leaks.

Nitrogen Foam I nerting

PRS’s Nitrogen foam in-erting is a simple yet effective process that enables hot work to be carried out on hydrocarbon handling systems in complete safety. The Nitrogen foam is injected into a process system at a low point and allowed to completely fill the vessel and pipework, rendering the internal atmosphere inert. On completion of hot work operations, the Nitrogen foam degenerates into small amounts of water, surfactant and gaseous Nitrogen.

Typical foam in-erting applications include vessel and pipework modification and / or replacement, hot cutting and system de- commissioning. All components of nitrogen foam are biodegradable and non-bio accumulative.

Pipe Freezing Services

Pipe-freezing is an essential tool in the maintenance of all types of liquid storage, process and transfer plant. The range of applications in which pipe-freezing can provide cost effective solutions is both extensive and diverse, from a small domestic water pipe to a huge oil pipeline, from a hospital heating system to a brewery bulk storage system, the freeze can be applied quickly and the results are reliable.

Under Ground Tank & Line Leak Testing

The portability and light weight of the PRS heli-test equipment (varian PHD-4) plays a major role in this application. Underground pipelines and storage tanks (ugst) are pressurized with Helium which, due to its high mobility, can escape through small leaks and migrate to the surface. There it can be easily detected by the phd-4.

Chemical Cleaning

In addition to the standard cleaning methods, PRS International offers a broad range of chemical cleaning services for pipelines, process systems in the process industry and power plants. Using solvents and/or surfactant bases cleaning chemicals are more effective than the traditional mechanical cleaning methods. Chemical cleaning is widely used for commissioning and de-commissioning

• f pipelines and process plants to increase productivity (throughput) and

efficiency, to improve inspections results, to maintain the quality of the product. In pipelines the use solvents and/or surfactant based cleaning chemicals are more effective than the mechanical cleaning using only pigs.

Steam And Air Blow ing Services

Steam blowing and air blowing are basically alternative techniques used during the commissioning of new steam raising plant. They are performed to ensure that potentially damaging debris is removed from the steam lines before the steam is admitted to equipment that may be damaged by such debris, in particular steam turbines.
