NMA,!PHN,!MWAN,!NURSES!and!Media!Partners!and! convince!them!x!!first!2days! B) !The!last!day!was!used!to!bring!together!in!a!Town!Hall! mee+ng!format!KEY!Ministers!led!by!the!Minister!of! Health!and!relevant!representa+ves!of!the!Legisla+ve! arm!of!government,!faithSbased!organiza+ons,!women! groups!to!interact!with!the!above!primed!stake!holders!!

President,!for!the!HLM!(supported!by!several!key!Ministers!&!the!Health!Minister/ DG!of!the!MDGs!in!the!country)!! – &!for!the!WHA!–!the!Health!Minister!and!the!Principal!officers!of!the!ministry!! – and!through!exchange!of!template!leKers!W!the!Principal!officers!of!the!ministry! were!mandated!by!the!Minister!to!hold!a!meeGng!with!UICC!Julie!Torrode.!! – SensiGzed!NGOs/!as!well!as!the!media,!!to!understand!they!need!to!sustain!the! advocacy!to!ensure!that!the!commitments!made!by!their!government!are! actualized!and!not!reneged!on! W The!inclusion!of!a!townWhall!meeGng!as!a!major!event!in!the!2011!InternaGonal! Cancer!Week!in!Abuja,!Nigeria,!by!the!Minister!for!Health.!!!

global!agenda!in!the!fight!on!NCDs!!we!successfully!set!in! mo+on!in!the!most!powerful!way!a!convincing,!! sustainable!,!and!yet!cost!effec+ve!!tool!kit!for! Stakeholders!to!dedicate!themselves!&!capitalize!on!their! various!!areas!of!strengths!to!work!together!with!the!lay! public,!especially!faith!based!organizaGons!and!community! groups,!to!sustain!advocacy!to!the!Nigerian!government!to! ensure!that!they!live!up!to!their!commitments.!!

na+ons!and!could,!if!concerted,!provide!a!mechanism!and! framework!for!a!coordinated!approach!that!would!assist!in! addressing!and!monitoring!progress!to!ensure!that!the! robust!targets!and!indicators!are!in!place!by!!the!end!!of! 2012,!in!order!to!achieve!the!!"25!by!25"!commitment!made! at!the!WHA,!&!achieve!the!eleven!World!Cancer!DeclaraGon! targets!by!2020!
