Common Expectations Professional Development Resources and Support Teachers with support from administrators will administer a common developmental spelling assessment 3x a year Implement high quality launch for professional learning that includes administrators Common Developmental Spelling Inventory (WTW – PSI, KSI, ESI, USI, WJ – DSA) Teachers will teach small group word study lesson 3-5 times a week Give materials to teachers during training Access to Sorts Reading Teachers will meet with teams every other week to discuss progress and provide support Outline Follow up professional learning Monthly check-ins during team or faculty meetings White board, dry erase markers, Lakeshore games, magnetic letters, Teachers will commit to the following key strategies:

  • Writing Sort
  • Word Hunt
  • Sorting

Provide video clips and conversations – especially great if you can video in your own district Video exchange Blackboard or Google Site to have a central location for materials Observations by administrators, peers, reading teachers Hotline
