License Articles and Conditions

The FERC license contains 61 Articles

Currently we have identified approximately 350 tasks for the life of the project (50 years).

Approximately 120 tasks have been identified that have compliance deadlines between July 2013 and July 2015.

The 350 and 120 tasks identified above do not include tasks associated with the BLM R/W, 401 rulings, ACOE 404 conditions, HPA conditions or any pre, during or post Engineering or Operations assignments.

We anticipate that there will be between 500 and 1000 tasks once all the conditions are analyzed.

Dam Removal Examples Continued

 Co

Condit D Dam m concrete gravity diversion located on the

White Salmon River in Washington. A 13-ft. high by 18- ft.wide drain tunnel was excavated in the toe of the dam for rapid release of the impounded water. Sediment removal was not required. Total cost of dam removal is reported to be $35 Million.

 Milltown

n Dam, M , Montana. The project includes removal

  • f the 668 feet long dam and a 1.4 MW hydroelectric power
  • plant. As part of the project 1600acre-ft. (2.6 million cubic

yards) of contaminated sediment is being removed and transported 90 miles by railroad for disposal in an existing ARCO tailings disposal facility. The project is estimated to cost $150 million at 2012 prices.

Prelim imin inary C Cost t Ranges s for r En Enloe D Dam Re Remo moval l

 The p

potential c cost o

  • f removing Enloe Dam and

Reservoir is uncertain. The main cost risk appears to be the potential cost of removal and off-site disposal of up to 1500 acre-ft. (2.4 million cubic yards) of accumulated sediment.

 Preliminary removal costs include both direct (dam

and powerhouse removal, sediment removal etc.) and

indirect costs (Environmental studies and permitting,

monitoring etc.)

 Entrainment range in Millions $27 - $67  Full removal range in Millions $375 - $1053
