OBJECTIVE: PROJECT SCOPE: KPI:

To organize PLUGFEST 2019 events focusing on Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) A IIoT PlugFest is an event based on I4.0 technical pillar where the engineers and designers try/test the interoperability of IIoT products or designs with those that is similar to their factory environment

This outcome-based program is to nurture 100 companies, to implement IIoT projects in their factory environment to kick start their I4.0 journey

1. Prepare E&E Manufacturers to accept the Industry 4.0 Revolution

  • Provide preparatory technology, business, and financial

readiness workshop to participants 2. Hands-on session on technology implementation in factory environment

  • Actual IoT devices setup & implementation hands on session
  • Data to Visualization hands on tutorial session
  • Readiness to use example to bring back to factory for PoC

3. Consultation session – Engineers-to-Engineers hours

  • Q & A session by subject matter experts

We will:

  • enable 100 companies nationwide
  • generate 45 IIoT Proof of Concept (POCs)
  • showcase 24 use-cases

ACTIVITIES/DESCRIPTION OUTPUT: COST

Activities and Milestones 1. To coach 100 companies to carry out IIoT projects at their company. 2. KS#3 will work with identified delivery partners to

  • rganize the PLUGFEST with start-up kits and cloud

subscription for the Proof of Concept (PoC) 3. Technology principals/Partner will support participants with the PoC 4. EEPN to showcase solution/success story at I4.0 event Delivery Partners

  • MPC, supported by Intel, MITI, AMCHAM, PSDC

These events are in support of our KS#3’s initiative to highlight companies that have successfully embarked on, and adopted, Industry 4.0 journey Timeline for IIoT PLUGFEST 2019

  • Central – Mar 2019
  • Southern – Jun 2019
  • Northern – Sep 2019
  • East Malaysia - ??

The cost will cover 3 PLUGFEST events nationwide Targeting 100 companies Cost per company= RM3K Total breakdown: Instructors, travel, accommodation & misc = RM15K Materials (start-up kits, printed etc) = RM200K Venue (lab prep, meals, utilities etc) = RM85K Grand total = RM300K OUTCOME:

  • Enable 100 companies, to implement IIoT project in their factory

environment to kick start their Industry 4.0 journey

  • 45 PoC in E&E manufacturers by end of 2019
  • Out of which KS#3 Focus Team will select 24 POCs for Showcasing

Highlights

  • Overall, program went well, managed to successfully conducted workshops
  • Total of 32 attended from 17 companies, plus 6 PSDC lecturers
  • 17 Proof of Concepts (POCs). 8 will be shortlisted for showcase.
  • Positive remarks from participants and all are eager to work on their projects
  • Good support from technical partners i.e. Axiomtek (Taiwan) and Intel (Penang)
  • Workshop size of 30 engineers is optimum

Areas for Improvement

  • Time constrain. Unable to promote the program effectively due to limited time

(unable to get 60 participants as initially planned)

  • Starter-kits lead-time was too long, delay due to customs clearance
  • Workshop room was a bit small
