  36. 3 key tenets for children to be successful in Primary 1.  Be able to listen to an adult and follow instructions.  Be able to start a task and finish it independently .  Be able to work cooperatively with other children such as to take turns, to share David Elkind, the author of the Hurried Child

Every Parent a supportive partner  Trust the school (Safety and care is paramount in RMPS)  Allow your child to be independent and allow them to learn to solve their own problems.  Provide tips to your child in making friends.  Encourage your child to ask questions if they need help.  Affirm their efforts in surviving the first few days and weeks in school (Hugs and Hi-Five will always help)  Encourage your child to adopt a healthy lifestyle.  Work with the Form teachers in developing your child holistically.

(Children with a more balanced lifestyle will minimise potential addictions in the future)  Use technology as an aid (not entertainment) to spur and cultivate your child’s aspirations , interests and learning.  Set aside a regular tech-free day/week. You can also declare a tech-free hour each evening.  Work with the school to find out more about the e- learning tools and platforms used and encourage and participate with your child

  42. Focus for Primary 1  Let them enjoy coming to school.  Let them enjoy playing in school.  Let them enjoy learning in school.  Allow them to be independent.  Do not add additional pressure on them.  Let them grow at their own pace.

Administrative Instructions from Parents’ Link  Refreshments will be served at 9.45am in front of hall  Parents to meet own class parents in their respective class seating group to establish the setting up of class networks. Our parent facilitators are there to assist them.  SFE Talk titled "Resilience, Optimism and Success for Children from 11.15am to 1.15pm

  44. Parents’ Link will be organizing a cash collection drive as part of the school’s CNY celebrations. The cash collected will be donated to a charity organization which will be visiting school on CNY Celebration Day. Every year, each old folk will receive an "ang pow" and remainder will be donated straight to the charity centre. A donation box will be placed on the table. 46 Thank you for your generous donations .
