COMPUTATIONAL THINKING AND CODING
Student Outcomes
- Develop computational thinking, coding concepts
and problem-based learning skills
- Grow a community of digital creators who are
passionate in embracing a culture of innovation and co-creation to solve real-world problems.
- Provide opportunities for students to develop,
practise and demonstrate new attitudes, skills and understandings that enhance their educational experiences.
- Promote communication, social and interpersonal
skills while exploring and sharing information.
Our Values: Integrity, Graciousness, Responsibility and Public-Spiritedness
APPLICATION
Coding
- applies math and science to the creation of something
useful.
- empowers students to move from passive recipients and
consumers of learning to true producers of content.
- puts students in control of their devices.
- a great way to get our students engaged and
excited about learning logic and math skills. It is really
about the process of breaking down and solving problems using logic, sequence, and precision. A program will do exactly what it is written to do.
- When students learn to code, they see their ideas appear on
the screen, and in addition they can share them with the world.

Our Values: Integrity, Graciousness, Responsibility and Public-Spiritedness
PRIMARY 3 Q & A
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do you determine whether a child needs remedial when it’s only Term 1? A: For P3, the remedial programme starts only in Term 1 Week 5. The teachers will be able to identify students who need extra support in their learning and provide the remediation and support to address their learning gaps
- f the students.
Q: Does the school provide advance Chinese lesson? A: Higher Chinese is only offered at P5. Q: Is enrichment class compulsory? A: It is not compulsory.
Our Values: Integrity, Graciousness, Responsibility and Public-Spiritedness
PRIMARY 3 Q & A
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Q. P3 are separated to 2 groups. Does it mean that there are
still so called best class and normal class? How do you determine this? Why do they need to buy the different books like science? A: Students are banded into 2 groups based on data and
- bservations of their learning dispositions, learning outcomes,
and factors such as the gender, race, nationality & learning and behavioural needs. The 3 classes in each of the 2 groups are of similar profile, with one group requiring more support and scaffolding in learning. Thus, the science resources which supplement the learning from the Science textbook and activity books, are different, with one that provides more
- scaffolding. The teachers will differentiate the learning for the
students based on their learning ability and needs and use the resources from the two books for the students, where relevant.

PRIMARY 3 Q & A
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Currently the P3 students are reshuffled to join different mother tongue groups. Will this reshuffling apply to other subjects as well? A: For the other subjects, we may have small group support based
- n students’ needs and available resources.
Q: Can our child change the CCA after joining? A: Students are strongly encouraged to remain in the CCA to develop their interest and build up their talent. They will also be able to develop greater sense of belonging and friendship in the CCA group that they are in. Q: Why do some class have 3 form Teachers whereas some have 2? A: Currently, we have enough resources to support all classes with 2 Form Teachers, with a few classes, 1 additional form teachers.
