History of Kazakh Pediatry • Year 2007, Pediatric and Treatment Faculty closed, General Practice Medical Faculty opened • Bolonia Educational system introduced and accepted in Kazakhstan • In June 2017 based on MOH prikaz Pediatric bachelor program was revived • In September 2017 Educational Program for Pediatrist with degree of Bachelor was granted.(Only KazNMU!!!)

General concept of Physician education • From 2007 - Accepted first candidates for General Practicioner (5 years bachelor) • Next for 2 year Internship in 5 specialties : • Therapeut • Pediatric • Surgery • Obstetrics and gynecology • Primary care physician • Residency in their specialty

General concept of Physician education cont … In 2017 first student attended 1 st year Pediatric specialty • Today they are on 3 rd year and need study another 2 years • • Total number of student on Pediatric faculty: 486 • KazNMU, the only university dedicated for such a training • Other use the General Medicine formula and specialize Pediatricians during Residency • KazNMU student also can specialize after GM as a Pediatrician in Residency

Full training of Pediatric physician • Algorithm of training: • Bachellor ( 5 years) • Internship (2 years) but…maybe 1 year?? • Resident (2-4 years depending on specialty) • Master degree in Pediatric (2 years) • PhD in Pediatrics (3 years)

Bachelor degree in Pediatric • Program consists of total 8895 hours or 198 credit (not less then 300 ECTS) • Program divided into tree areas: • General disciplines- 1260 h/28 credits • Basic disciplines- 4410 h/98 credits • Major disciplines- 2430 h/54 credits • Additional disciplines- 795 h/18 credits • In addition: • Practice- 360 hours • Final examination- 105 hours •

Internship • Program consists of total 3240 hours or 72 credit (120 ECTS) • Program divided into two areas: • Major disciplines- 2250 h/50 credits • Elective disciplines- 990 h/22 credits • In addition: • Final examination- 105 hours

Residency • This is a post diploma education • Program consists of total 4095 hours or 91 credit (not less then 180 ECTS) • Program divided into two areas: • Major disciplines- 3645 h/81 credits • Elective disciplines, examines and attestats- 450 h/10 credits
