Lead Requirements

  • Lead hazard reduction is incidental to the rehabilitation
  • Before rehab of pre-1978 home – presume lead, “Renovate Right”

pamphlet, visual assessment, include defective paint surfaces in WWU

  • During rehab – RRP certified contractor uses lead safe work practices,

relocate homeowner when necessary

  • After rehab – cleaning of house by contractor, clearance examination by

licensed personnel, provide owner with Lead Hazard Reduction Notice

  • Contract with a LBP Risk Assessor for a Paint Inspection
  • If no LBP found, higher rehab base cost limit of $50,000 may be used
