Writing Plan Grades 9 – 12

■ 2-3 MAJOR papers per semester including instruction in writing argumentative, informative, narrative, and research essays. ■ DAILY writing in all classes including creative responses, journals, reflection, and analysis. ■ AKS based writing assessments at each level ■ Writing instruction includes practice writing for the Gateway and Milestone essays in grades 9-11.

genres of journalistic writing: Sports, Features, Opinions, News, and

  • issues. The class is by application only-

  • Magazine. First semester, students

write poetry, short stories, non fiction pieces, and screen plays! Second semester students work on writing contests and doing the layout and design of the literary magazine.
