- Transition from primary to secondary is a major milestone.
“Moving into first year was scary when I was in P7. I was most worried about meeting new people and the work being hard. I loved the days in June though and was looking forward to starting. - Kilmarnock Academy participate in transition meetings for primary
pupils with ASN.
- Enhanced transition.
- Where required, supports can be in place for pupils starting S1.
- After a few weeks in S1, pupils are assessed. Assessment + info. from
primary + class teacher observations = closing the gap support.

Tuesday 5th February 2019 Safer Internet Day All P7s at Kilmarnock Academy for a morning of events focusing on internet safety. 9.20-11.35am. Wednesday 8th May 2019 Expressive Arts Day All P7s at Kilmarnock Academy for a day of dance, drama, music and art. All day event. Gym kit and packed lunch required.

- Induction days take place on Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th and Friday
7th June 2019.
- Wednesday and Thursday will be an exciting opportunity to follow S1
timetable and meet classmates and staff.
- Friday will be a day of sporting events at Ayrshire Athletics Arena.
