What is EPOS ? (ESFRI Project) EPOS is a European long-term integration plan that aims to create a single sustainable, permanent and distributed infrastructure that includes: • geophysical and geodetic monitoring networks • local observatories (including permanent in-situ and volcano observatories) • experimental & analogue laboratories in Europe EPOS will give open access to geophysical and geological data and modelling tools, enabling a step change in multidisciplinary scientific research into different areas

Existing national research infrastructures are integrated into the EPOS Data Centres => EPOS data service infrastructure will be designed and established during the PP

Objectives of ¡ The ¡ main ¡objec1ve ¡ is ¡the ¡development ¡of ¡a ¡ novel ¡and ¡efficient ¡ ¡ e-­‑infrastructure ¡concept ¡addressing ¡the ¡needs ¡of ¡the ¡end-­‑users. ¡ • ¡To ¡op3mize ¡the ¡ best ¡architecture ¡for ¡the ¡mul1disciplinary ¡ distributed ¡research ¡infrastructure; ¡ • ¡To ¡guarantee ¡the ¡ technical ¡interoperability ¡of ¡the ¡distributed ¡ research ¡infrastructures; ¡ • ¡To ¡guarantee ¡the ¡adop3on ¡of ¡ common ¡standards ¡and ¡ prac1ces ¡for ¡the ¡implementa1on ¡phase; ¡ • ¡To ¡facilitate ¡the ¡ access ¡to ¡data ¡centres ¡and ¡to ¡the ¡use ¡of ¡ modelling ¡and ¡processing ¡tools; ¡
