Because the work is being performed on an active yard, the contractor will have to wait until after operating hours to perform certain work. Work hours would be 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. In addition, an exemption will minimize construction impacts on the surrounding community by accelerating the completion of work such as:  Directional boring  Installation of underground conduits and manhole structures  Cut overs to existing tracks and systems
