A39/A368 MARKSBURY JUNCTION (BENCES GARAGE) • £0.700 of LGF as part of a £0.890m project • Operational Nov 2018 & Completed April 2019 • Aim to improve journey times, reducing delays and congestion through network improvements and driving growth in Keynsham, Bath & Somer Valley . Works include: • An additional road lane • New signal equipment • A new pedestrian refuge • New footpath

  6. AZTEC WEST • £2.1m of LGF as part of a £4.06m project • Works completed June 2018 • A driver of productivity the project aims to improve highway capacity , road safety and sustainable travel/access to and from Aztec West businesses and residents Works include: Also funded with EDF - £0.072m & RIF - £1.889m • Widening of A38 approach to the roundabout from the North (M5 Jct 16) • Construction of pedestrian and cyclist crossing facilities

  7. BROMLEY HEATH VIADUCT • £2.8m of LGF as part of a £11m project • Works completed August 2018 • Major strengthening and maintenance works and width extension to shared use pathways • Project aim was to reduce the economic cost of the works on businesses and commuters (achieved £9m cost reduction) and reduce the green house gas emissions by 800 tonnes. Works include: • 100m long, 2.5m wide cycle/footway • Replacement of 100m long parapet and vehicle restraint barrier • Structural work allowing 100 tonne loads to use the road

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT PACKAGE 15/16 £2.9m of LGF as part of £9.4m project • Project completed December 2016 • A place and infrastructure focussed project aimed at alleviating congestion and other transport pressures on growth • by delivering West of England wide improvement works to encourage walking, cycling and sustainable transport Council Outputs A new toucan crossing over the A4 dual carriageway east of the Globe Roundabout Installation of 1.1km of shared use path through Green Park 2km of shared use path in Avonmouth Construction of 65m shared use path between Cabot Circus to Bath Railway Path 140m shared use path between cycle route on Lamb Street / Lawfords Gate towards Cabot Circus and key strategic routes of the Concorde Way and the Frome Greenway 300m section of shared use path from Ebdon Road to St Marks Road A371 Locking Road 0.97km of shared use path 3 new bus shelters and raised kerbs at Aztec West 300m of cycle path constructed & 1km of cycle path improved (Yate Spur) 1.5km of A4174 shared use path improved by provision of street lighting Cycle parking facilities at schools & improved routes to 2 schools in Thornbury

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT PACKAGE 16/17 • £3.719m of LGF as part of £4.802m project • Project completed October 2018 • Focussed in the T emple Quarter Enterprise Zone the project seeks to support growth in the Enterprise Areas, improve connectivity to areas and support transitions to low carbon lifestyles • The transport initiative includes new and improved routes and facilities for walking and cycling and public transport improvements such as dedicated bus lanes

  12. 12 LOCAL GROWTH FUND - SKILLS 5 completed projects: Advanced Engineering Centre Extension • B&NES Construction Skills Centre • North Somerset Enterprise T echnical Centre • Weston College – Future T echnology Centre • Weston College – Law & Professional Services Academy •

ADVANCED ENGINEERING CENTRE • £4.003m of LGF funding, 100% of the project cost • Completed/opened October 2017 • A project within the skills arena that supports an employer led strategy for advanced engineering in North Bristol / South Gloucestershire As of May 2018 • 1,372 learners were enrolled, an increase of 12% on the 2015 baseline figure of 1,211 • Delivering apprenticeships from level 2 to level 6 • Working with 143 different engineering employers including Micro, SME and large organisations

  14. B&NES CONSTRUCTION SKILLS CENTRE • £2.731m of LGF funding as part of a £3.992m project • Completed and opened September 2017 • A skills project that supports the skills and training needs of a number of national and local developers by offering training in the construction trades of Brickwork, Carpentry , Electrical, Plumbing, Stonemasonry etc • Creation of a 2,885m 2 specialist construction skills centre with refurbishment of 144m 2 As of Sept 2017: • T arget of 347 additional learners exceeded with total of 567 • Operation costs reduced by £163k p.a.

  15. NORTH SOMERSET ENTERPRISE TECHNICAL CENTRE • £2.177m of LGF as part of £26.9m project • Project completed Dec 2016 • A skills based project to provide North Somerset with a Centre of Excellence for STEM training in priority sectors of Science, T echnology , Engineering and Maths • Purpose built 6,100m2 building ‘hub’ for NSETC a STEM focused Free School At April 2018 • 43 FTE jobs Also funded with EDF - £1.5m • 280 secondary /FE places ages 14- 16 • 41% increase in STEM students from 2014 -17

  16. FUTURE TECHNOLOGY CENTRE (WESTON COLLEGE) • £2.7m LGF as part of a £4.2m project • Operational from August 2016 • A skills project aimed at addressing the skills shortage in the creative and digital, advance and civil engineering, automated manufacturing and low carbon industry sectors At Sept 2017 • 1,109 learners - 25% more than projected • Employer contracts secured for 47 apprentices with companies such as GKN, Wessex Water , Atkins

  17. LAW & PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ACADEMY (WESTON COLLEGE) • £19.4m of LGF as part of a £30.5m project • First Academy building (hotel refurbishment) completed March 2016 with work on the Winter Gardens finished in July 2017 • A skills project delivering industry recognised vocational routes into professional services employment in conjunction with employers to address the skills gaps At Sept 2017 • A 7332m2 ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the region • 1,249 learners – 33% more than in 2015/16 • Only provider in West of England to deliver a degree apprenticeship in BSc Digital and T echnological Solutions

AEROSPACE BRISTOL • £1.7m of LGF as part of a £17m project • Opened October 2017 • Supporting the engineering and aerospace priority sector by advancing learning, skills & training in science, technology , engineering & design • Development of 3.7ha of neglected site & restoration of listed buildings • 3,000m2 of new exhibition gallery spaces; three learning suites; new visitor centre with retail and catering facilities • New building of 3,200m2 to house Concorde, conference spaces; 150 seat lecture theatre By March 2018 • 70,000 visitors - 180,000 visitors forecast against 120,000 target in first year • 3,478 school children visits, 100% very good/excellent rating
