Diet & Lifestyle Goals • Fill up with fiber- whole grains, fruits/vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans • Plant based – potassium, hydration, nutrients, lower caloric density • Optimize activity- break up sitting; strength/resistance for metabolic health

Nutrition & Hypertension • Healthful, realistic weight /body composition • < 1500 mg sodium/day • 3500-5000 mg potassium/day ( consider renal status) • ETOH – 2 or less servings/day for men, 1 or less per day for women
