• Provide a collaborative framework to improve

shipbuilding-related technical and business processes

• Manage and focus national shipbuilding and

ship repair research & development funding on technologies and processes that will:

• Reduce the total ownership cost of ships for the U.S. Navy,
• ther national security customers and the commercial sector
• Develop and leverage best commercial and naval practices

to improve the efficiency of the U.S. shipbuilding and ship repair industry

NSRP Shipyard Delegate (NSD)

• NSRP member shipyards designate a NSRP Shipyard Delegate

(NSD) to serve as a primary point of contact for NSRP-related information flowing into and out of the shipyard.

• As many of the qualifications and responsibilities of the NSD

correlate with the Major Initiative Team Lead (MITL) role, the ECB representative can designate a MITL from their shipyard to serve as the NSD.
