commitment to meet once/month.

  • Don’t have to be a well-known, public figure to

be considered.

  • We seek applicants for the Steering

Committee that represent the diversity that exists in each district, geographically, generationally and culturally, as well as the differing viewpoints on key issues facing the relevant district and the island as a whole.

What the Steering Committee will be doing

  • Help the Planning Department and

CDP Consultants to identify and include the main stakeholders

  • Serve as community liaisons,

advisors to the planners, help to monitor progress, and help the CDP to be a high quality product.

What the Steering Committee will be doing

  • Learn a lot about the CDP’s process and its

contents; review interim work products and draft reports. The knowledge gained by serving on the Steering Committee (SC) will help SC members to be a source of information to people in their communities.

  • Review all plan drafts and recommend

approval of the CDP to the Planning Director.

  • Should amendments to the CDP be made by

the County Council, the Steering Committee will have a chance to review and comment on those amendments prior to adoption of the CDP by Ordinance.
