Let’s Rock Out this Scholarship Season! Best Practices

Next Steps.

  • 1. Set expectations. Assign students to apply to at least 2 scholarships a
  • month. 1 High Effort + 1 Local Scholarship.
  • 2. Limit 1-2 Scholarship Resources. Reduce the number of sites! Students

become easily overwhelmed. Encourage students to create their College Greenlight account and connect to you!

  • 3. Give time + incentives. Turn free work period into a challenge with
  • peers. Set incentives and assign fun activity to increase urgency.
  • 4. Follow through + track. During 1-on-1 counseling sessions. Students

should provide proof of completed applications. Use your tracking tools on College Greenlight to see their search and application process.
