Use key phrases for describe, explain, evaluate questions (command words) We have a “command words” poster on google classroom, and a word bank in their notes document. This will help them answer each question in the correct way. Identify, describe, explain, justify, evaluate. Increase effort levels Pupils should work hard to improve the quality of their skills. They can do this by taking on board feedback and demonstrating their understanding through performance. Read feedback on homework and adapt to improve Use teacher feedback to change and improve your answers. This will help pupils feel more prepared for portfolio.   • All course content is taught through practical lessons. This is to

increase pupil enjoyment and engagement, aiding retention of information.

  • In theory lessons, pupils are then required to apply this knowledge to

their chosen activity through answering questions.

  • The practical lessons are taught through a variety of activities to

ensure all pupils’ interests are included. This means, at times, pupils will be doing activities that they will not be assessed in.
