What: Morenci’s Title V Air Quality Permit requires that reasonable precautions are employed to prevent excessive dust from becoming airborne. Who: All employees and contractors are required help prevent dust from becoming airborne. Where: All areas of the mine, including processing,
crushers, shovels, unpaved roads, tailings dam, stockpiles, etc.

When: Anytime an activity has the potential to generate airborne dust, or when dust is occurring, please take necessary action(s) to mitigate immediately. How: Drive to the conditions of the road (15mph when dry/dusty conditions). Call for water truck when excessive dust is observed. Contact the control room operator and request water application when you see airborne dust from conveyor belts, transfer points, pollution control equipment, or stockpiles Manage piles of accumulated dust by contacting the area supervisor to vacuum or remove it. Call or notify someone in the Environmental Services department.
