Montgomery Upper Middle School Music Department 2015 Hershey Park Trip

Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th 2015

Trip Information

 Overnight Trip to Hershey, PA  All ensembles will perform at Hershey-area schools before a panel

• f judges who will provide critical feedback (Day 1)

 Day 2 is spent in Hershey Park  7th and 8th Grade Concert Bands, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band,

Choruses, Orchestras

 Leave Friday, May 8th from UMS via Stout’s Charter Busses in

the AM

 Return to UMS on Saturday, May 9th in the late evening.  All students will be given the opportunity to choose their Hotel

Roommates.

 All students will have the opportunity to choose their Park Groups.

Trip Safety- our #1 Priority

 A minimum of one Chaperone per 10 students in

attendance (7th grade)

 7th graders remain with their chaperone at the park

throughout the day. 8th graders will be able to enjoy the park in a small group, and they will check-in with staff chaperones at lunch and departure.

 A Nurse and School Administrator will be with us

throughout the trip and there are first aid stations in the park.

 Security guards will be on duty in the hotel during our

• vernight stay.

Trip Includes the following:

Chaperones!

 In the late winter/early spring we’ll be asking

for parent chaperones who would be interested in chaperoning the trip.

 We will utilize an online sign-up request

form…please do not email us now! 

 There are no additional costs to be a

chaperone!...just your time and helpful spirit 

7th Grade Concert Band Rehearsal

3:00p to 6:00p *Mandatory for all 7th grade band members attending the trip

Thursday, May 7th, 2015

Jazz Band Dress Rehearsal

3:00p to 4:25p *Mandatory for all Jazz Band members attending the trip

Friday, May 8th, 2015

 Students arrive to school at

normal time

 Load busses and depart UMS

in the AM

 Hotel check-in before

performance (time permitting)

 Adjudicated performances at

local schools between 4-9pm

 Dinner Buffet at the Hotel

after performances

 Security on duty throughout

the evening

Payment Schedule

 This Friday, October 31st: $50 Due Payments may be

submitted this evening. You may make a full payment if you wish. Please staple check to Deposit Form and submit to your child’s director.

 Friday, January 9th: $200  Total Cost: $250  Please make all checks out to: Montgomery Middle School  No refunds will be issued after April 1st. No exceptions.
