THE MMCAP MODEL

Voluntary group purchasing organization for government facilities that provide healthcare services

A pure cooperative

Membership is open to entities such as state agencies, counties, cities, school districts, non-profits and public higher education facilities.

Operated by the State of Minnesota

1985 - cooperative purchasing venture between Minnesota and Wisconsin

MMCAP does not receive funding from the State of Minnesota or from any government source

Membership includes 46 states and the cities of Chicago and Los Angeles

Based on state monthly purchase volume and facility payment terms

Invoice price = MMCAP contract price * ([100 – COGs%] / 100])

Drug A MMCAP Contract Price = $323.97

Facility Cost of Goods = 1.54%

Invoice Price = $323.97 * ([100 – 1.54] / 100) = $318.98

Catalog is only for pharmaceutical pricing

MMCAP Membership Coordinator will assign username and password

The additional log in in required because the catalog is supported by an outside vendor, which updates our pricing weekly.
