  2. Introduction Have you ever been to Mississippi? I have. I have been there 5 times and it was cool and fun. The state capital is Jackson and the Largest city is Jackson too. Have you ever been to any of the Major cities? I have been to one and it was Tupelo and the rest are Greenville and Natchez. When we went to Mississippi, we went to its surrounding states which were Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

  3. Physical Description Now, I will tell you all about the physical description of Mississippi. Do you know the population? It is 2,967,297. The highest point is Woodall Mountain,806 ft (246m). Let me tell you more about Mississippi. Do you know the area? I do, it is 48,434 square miles and that is real big. The largest river is " Mississippi river". The largest Lakes of Mississippi are Ross Barnett Reservoir, Arkabutla Lake, Sardis Lake, and Grenada Lake.

  4. State Symbols and Emblems Let me tell you some facts about the State Symbols And Emblems. Do you know where the state name came from? It came from the " Great rivers" or " Gathering of all waters". The state nickname is Magnolia state, Mockingbird is the state bird, The state mammal so a white-tailed deer. A honey bee is the state insect. The state flower is a Magnolia flower and Magnolia is the state tree. Do you know where the flag came from? It was adopted in 1894.

  5. Jobs and Resources Now, I will tell you about the Jobs And Resources the people do in Mississippi. Do you know the jobs and resources? Mississippi has lots of jobs. They do farming and grow things like cotton, corn, soybeans, and rice. They also work in oil, textiles, electronic equipment, transportation equipment, and fishing.

  6. Famous People Let me tell you about Famous People and why they are famous. Did you know that Jim Henson is famous? I did, Jim Henson is famous because he wrote movies and was a puppeteer and kids liked it. Let me tell you more about some more famous people. The second person who is famous is Oprah Winfrey, she is Famous because she had a good tv show. The third person who is famous is Jay Hannah " Dizzy" Dean. He is famous because he became a famous pitcher in baseball. Those are all of the famous people on my research paper.

  7. Famous Places Let me tell you about the famous places people will go in my state. I have been to its famous places. People would like to go to Elvis Presley's birthplace, which is at Tupelo in northeastern Mississippi. They also go to Vicksburg National Military Park. People also will go to the Petrified Forest which is near Flora.

  8. State History Did you know that on December 10th, Mississippi became a state in the U.S.? I did. Finally, I can tell you some facts about state history. In 1861 Mississippi secedes from the union. Then in 1927 there was a flood and waters from the Mississippi River killed hundreds of people and caused extensive property damage. In 1962 James Mereditch enrolls as the first black student at the University of Mississippi.
