VR Mission and Vision

BUREAU OF SERVICES FOR BLIND PERSONS Mission: To provide opportunities to individuals who are blind or visually impaired to achieve employment, and/or achieve maximum and meaningful independence in life through comprehensive rehabilitative services. Vision: To help Michigan become a better State for blind and visually impaired persons to be equal contributing citizens that enjoy all the advantages of a full, independent life. MICHIGAN REHABILITATION SERVICES Mission: Develop customized workforce solutions for businesses and individuals with disabilities. Vision: A diverse and inclusive workforce that unites businesses and individuals with disabilities toward a common good.

Embrace and drive agreed-upon core values into every aspect of its business. Connect consumers with demand-driven employment occupations by utilizing resources such as LMI data and Employer Engagement practices. Promote and encourage skill attainment, credentialing and long term employment retention. Partner with consumers in setting SMART goals that create accountability and clear expectations for both consumer and counselor.

Invest in and support its counselors in the field by providing education training and support. Develop and innovate for effective expenditure of Pre-ETS reserves. Develop close working relationships with its WIOA core partners. Educate its publics regarding the new VR and its WIOA mandates.
