2013 Tourism figures first quarter 2013:

  • Visits abroad by UK residents Q1, 2013 static

at 10.3 million

  • Leisure continues to be the main reason for UK

visits abroad, +1% = 5.8m holiday visits

  • Visits to Europe increased by 2%
  • Number nights spent abroad down 1.1%

compared with Q1 2012

  • Expenditure increased by 3.2% to £6.1 billion
  • Spending in Europe increased by 4%

2013 UK visits to Lithuania: . Up 21% 2nd quarter, . Reaching 19,800 in total . 6th place in overseas tourism rankings, 5th Germany, 1 to 4th places neighbours . Total British visitors in 2012 65,600 / 37,800 in tourism accommodation 2014 Forecast:

  • UK visits to EU destinations are expected to

increase by 4.0% in 2014 and 4.6% in 2015

  • UK figures to Lithuania expected to exceed

the growth figures of the rest of the EU. :
