Advocates for Urban Agriculture COVID-19 Grant for Community Gardens
Advocates for Urban Agriculture is funding grants for community
gardens in Chicago impacted by COVID-19.
Community gardens: up to $1,000 Community gardens collaborating with community organizations (food
pantries, community groups, etc.): up to $10,000
Funding must be related to the impact of COVID-19 Deadline: Next Friday, May 29th

USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program
Unfortunately, the food distributor the Chicago Food Policy Action
Council was applying with did not win a grant
However, Gourmet Gorilla did win $27,584,894
Looking to partner with Chicago-area organizations Limited boxes left now, but may receive more capacity later
Current weekly capacity remaining: 155 protein boxes, 150 produce
boxes, 150 milk boxes Fill out Gourmet Gorilla survey if you want to receive food boxes Ryan will keep sending opportunities to partner and other

SNAP Online Ordering in Illinois
Beginning June 2nd, SNAP recipients in Illinois will be
able to use their LINK card to purchase food from participating grocery retailers online!
Downsides:
SNAP recipients will only be able to do this at pre-
approved retailers
Only Walmart and Amazon are on that list currently
Delivery costs not currently covered by the program
Please consider sharing this news with your clients
who receive SNAP
