M27 J4-J11 - About the scheme ▪ Between junction 4 (M3 interchange) and junction 11 (Fareham) will be upgraded to a Smart Motorway ▪ The scheme is 24km (15 miles) long ▪ All links between J4 to 11 to be upgraded to Smart Motorway (consistent) ▪ The hardshoulders will be permanently converted to create a 4 lane ‘All Lane Running’ Smart Motorway ▪ J7 to 8 hardshoulder will be retained, 4 lane running exists ▪ New technology signs and signals and new emergency refuge areas www.highways.gov.uk/m27-j4-11-smart-motorway

Introduction ▪ Travel Demand Management (TDM) measures seeks to influence travel behaviour by providing journey planning information, an increased range of travel options and reducing the number of journeys required
