Prevention measures include:
LOCKPORT CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
- Staying home if you feel sick. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscles or body
aches, headache, new loss of smell or taste, sore throat, congestion of runny nose, nausea or vomiting and/or diarrhea. Students and staff exhibiting these signs should not come to school or work.
- Covering your nose and mouth with an acceptable face covering
- Adhering to the social distancing instructions
- Reporting symptoms of, or exposure to, COVID-19
- Following hand hygiene, and cleaning and disinfection guidelines. Daily cleaning will include high touch surfaces in classrooms, offices, and restrooms
- Following respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette
- Conducting temperature checks for all individuals everyday before reporting to school. Parents are expected to perform a health screening prior to a
child boarding a bus or being dropped off at school. If the child has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, the child should stay home and a physician should be contacted.
- Limiting the number of visitors on school grounds or in facilities
The district will coordinate with local health officials if an infected person has been in a school building. The officials will help the District take appropriate actions.
