• The Standard:

> Walking: Double buggy > Cycling: Safe for a competant12yr old (Bikeability level 2)

£160m Fund via 2 funding avenues: Active Centres & Corridors:

Strategic walking and cycle route connections between and across town and city centres;

• Would apply to streets like the A6 and
• ther commuting corridors.
• TfGM have commissioned a study to look

at the entire length of the A6 as Streets for All.

Active Neighbourhoods:

Improving neighbourhood walking and cy- cling access from residential areas to local jobs, schools, colleges, health facilities and public transport.

• Reduce car dependency for short trips;
• Improve walking and cycling access to key

local facilities (jobs, education, health and shops);

• Improve fjrst and last mile access to public

transport by walking and cycling;

• Improve walking and cycling to/from new

housing developments; and/or

• Reduce severance impacts of major roads

that pass through local communities.

What could form an Active Neighbourhood?
