Decision Making

Comments/opinions were varied

“We don’t have any major concerns. We hope that everything goes well and the kids are safe and healthy.” “I don’t feel comfortable to send my child to school this year.” “Our primary concern is the feasibility of keeping social distancing and mask requirements in place for younger children. Also, even if we do reopen in person I think it is important for the children to be mentally and practically prepared for the possibility that we may switch to virtual learning at some point.”

  • If a class has to quarantine due to an exposure, the teacher and class can

more easily shift to virtual learning together

  • Limited rearrangement of the school - Teachers can remain in current

classrooms based on current numbers

  • Parents can get care before school and from 12:45 pm to 6 pm through the

YMCA (registration at https://www.hcymca.org/child-learning-center/before-and-after-school-programs/)

1st Trimester Enrollment

  • The District will offer an enrollment period for parents to review their options

and make informed decisions for their families.

  • If you select the remote option, this will indicate a commitment to remaining

remote for the first trimester (through December 4, 2020).

  • Enrollment for the hybrid option will set a determined number of students in
  • ur schools and those numbers must remain constant throughout the first

trimester to ensure that social distancing requirements are met.

slide-27
SLIDE 27

1st Trimester Enrollment

  • Families may opt to remove their students from the in-person/hybrid option

and enter the remote option, but students in remote may not opt to join the in-person/hybrid model until the next available enrollment period.

  • Commitments are for the length of the first trimester.
