  3. Absorber overall view. The LBNE Absorber is built from water cooled Aluminum and Steel Core Blocks surrounded by steel and concrete shielding. Overall dimensions of the absorber are: Length-460in.; Width-408in.; Height-554in with RH facility.   4. The absorber core includes: Aluminum Spoiler, five Aluminum Mask blocks with different hole diameters, nine sculpted Aluminum blocks, four solid Aluminum blocks and four Steel blocks. Spoiler dimensions: 40”W ;40”H;12” thickness. Mask core blocks dimensions: 77”/79W; 77”H; 12” thickness . Sculpted Al, Solid Al, Steel blocks dimensions: 60”/62W; 60”H; 12” thickness.   6. Absorber components and air flow The air cooled absorber is designed to remove 225 kW of the energy from the surrounded absorber core blocks steel shielding. The absorber shielding is made from CCSS 9.11” steel plates. The support core blocks housing is made from 12” construction low carbon steel. The gap between neighboring steel plates is 0.20”.
