What Are Citizens on Patrol?

Non-Sworn Citizen Volunteers selected & “hired” by local Police and Sheriffs department Limited to Full Background Checks completed Training varies on average from 24 to 40 hours in addition to First Aid and CPR requirements On average, C.O.P.’s are required to donate from 12 to 16 hours per month

What Are Citizens on Patrol?

C.O.P.’s are Not armed and do Arrest, other than Citizens Arrest. They Patrol in Uniform, Typically in Marked Patrol Vehicles. Some have limited authority to issue non- moving citations such as Parking. Are trained to be good witnesses and to report suspicious or criminal activity.
