  2. 2/15/17 Sixth grade students attend a five day residential school program that includes hands-on learning opportunities which incorporates the state science framework. Outdoor School curriculum includes: * life science; biology, botany * earth science; geology, meteorology, astronomy * outdoor skills, Native American lore * recreation activities and crafts 2

  4. 2/15/17 Pink form must be turned in to your child’s core teacher (Language Arts/Social Studies) Friday, March 17 But, sooner is better DO NOT RETURN THE SUGGESTED PACKING LIST. 4

  5. 2/15/17 Special needs forms should be returned attached to the child’s pink medical authorization form. If you would like to contact the nurse or chef in regards to special needs the number is (760) 765-3000. Please read the recommended packing list. Remember, these are recommendations. Children are only allowed one piece of luggage and their sleeping bag. Pay close attention to the DO NOT BRING section. Please label students clothing. 5

  6. 2/15/17 Students must be registered at the District Office. Payments must be made at the Lakeside Union School District Office, 12335 Woodside Avenue. Participating in the fundraiser does not mean a student is registered. Cost is $360 and a nonrefundable $50 deposit is required. We will be departing from Lakeside Middle School on Monday, April 3 at 9 a.m. Students will arrive shortly after school starts to avoid traffic. We can use volunteers to help us load luggage. Please park in the upper parking lot by River Valley. 6

  7. 2/15/17 We will be returning to Lakeside Middle School on Friday, April 7 between 12 - 12:30, depending on departure time and traffic. Please ensure you make arrangements for your child to be picked up promptly. They will not be attending regular school that Friday. It is a good idea to mail letters prior to departure. Camp address: Cuyamaca Outdoor School Lakeside Middle School 12561 Hwy 79 Descanso, CA 91916 Please ensure your child’s school is included in the address. Letters can be mailed prior to the week of Outdoor School so they have something up there waiting for them. 7

  8. 2/15/17 If you have a special together or apart request, please e-mail Mr. Mendoza at bmendoza@lsusd.net or have your child bring in a written explanation to him prior to March 17. If a student is allergic to any insect sting or bite, prescribed medicine must be brought to camp. If the medicine is in the school’s health office, it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure it is picked up for use at camp. Students with a systemic reaction must have an EPI-PEN kit. Medication can only be picked up by the parent. 8

  9. 2/15/17 All medicines must be labeled. Put the medicine in a plastic baggy and mark it as follows: Student’s name Name of the medication and the reason for taking The correct dosage and time to be taken Name and phone number of the physician Please turn in Medical Authorization Forms into the front office as soon as possible. White medical authorization forms will be placed in the bag with the medicine. All medicines will be given to the designated teacher before getting on the bus on the day of departure. All unused portions will be returned to the parents or to the school health clerk when we return. 9

  10. 2/15/17 Please have sleeping bags and pillows wrapped in a plastic bag and clearly marked with the student’s full name and school. Also, ensure luggage is clearly marked. It is not a bad idea to label all of your child’s belongings. A spare pair of shoes is a must. Children are not to pierce ears within the month prior to departure. 10

  11. 2/15/17 All payments should be made by Friday, March 17 unless other arrangements have been made through the school principal. If payments are not made, or other arrangements made with the principal, your child will be unable to attend. Payments can only be accepted at the District Office. 11
