Kids’ EE Gospel Presentation TALKING * Do you go to church anywhere? Tell me about it. TESTIMONY Church is important to me because that is where I learned how I can go to Heaven. TWO QUESTIONS May I ask you two questions? Do you know for sure that you are going to be with God in Heaven some day? If God asked you, “Why should I let you into my Heaven?” what would you say? TRANSITION I have really good news for you! May I share with you how I know for sure I’m going to Heaven and how you can know this too? GRACE Heaven is a free gift. It is not something you work for or deserve. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV). The Bible also says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). FRIEND’S GIFT ILLUSTRATION: (Suppose my best friend gave me a really expensive gift …) SO WHAT KEEPS US FROM GETTING THIS GIFT? MAN We all sin, and we cannot save ourselves. What is sin? Sin is anything that we think, say, do, or don’t do, that does not please God. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The Bible also says, “Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). ROTTEN EGG ILLUSTRATION: (Trying to be good enough to get to Heaven would be like …) THERE MUST BE A DIFFERENT WAY—GOD’S WAY! GOD God is loving, but God is also just. The Bible says, “God is love” (1 John 4:8b); but the Bible also says, “(He) will by no means clear the guilty” (Exodus 34:7b KJV).
On the one hand, God loves us and doesn’t want to punish us; but on the other hand, God is just and must punish sin. GARCIA ILLUSTRATION: (A long time ago there was a man we will call Garcia …) DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM? GOD SOLVED THIS PROBLEM BY SENDING HIS SON JESUS. CHRIST Jesus is God. He came from Heaven to earth. He lived a perfect life. He died on the cross and rose from the dead, to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in Heaven for us. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). RECORD BOOK OF SIN ILLUSTRATION: (Let’s imagine this book contains everything …) “The LORD has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity (sin) of us all” (Isaiah 53:6b KJV). HOW DO WE GET THIS GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE? BY FAITH. FAITH Saving faith is not just knowing about God in your head. Saving faith is not just temporary. Saving faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for our eternal life. The Bible says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved …” (Acts 16:31). LIFEBOAT ILLUSTRATION: (Let us say that I am in a boat all by myself a long way from land .…) DOES THIS MAKE SENSE TO YOU? COMMITMENT Would you like to pray now to ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to give you the gift of eternal life? This means that you want to trust in Jesus, turn from your sins, and follow Him. Jesus is alive today and has promised to come into the life of anyone who trusts in Him. Jesus says in the Bible, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in …” (Revelation 3:20). If this is what you want, we can pray together. I can pray, and you can repeat after me: Dear Jesus, Forgive my sins, and come into my life as my Lord and Savior. Amen. Jesus says, “… he who believes has everlasting life” (John 6:47b). Now, do you know for sure that you are going to be with God in Heaven some day? And if God asked you, “Why should I let you into my Heaven?” what would you say? Welcome to the family of God!
