Our Tribute to the Great Barrier Reef Back in time when the reef radiated colour, But recently our reef has become increasingly duller. With majestic colours such as blue, yellow and red, But the colour and character appears to be dead. Gases released turn into pollution, Humans are struggling to find a solution. The conditions in coral is altered and the algae is leaving, The underwater ecosystem is slowly grieving. Thanks to our ignorance the coral is bleaching, Higher temperature the water reaching. Thanks to our disregard the bleaching process is forming, Our reef once bewildering no more due to global warming. If we don’t act soon the colours will fade, Our reef once beautiful is the reef we betrayed.
