The 3 Southern Maryland Counties have
some of the lowest rates of physical activity in the state of Maryland(1).
Based on 2006 data, more than 25% of
children are obese with another 22% identified as at risk(2).
Children who begin healthy lifestyle
practices early have a greater chance of carrying these habits into adulthood(3).

program from Chronic Disease Block Grant through State of Maryland through the Charles County Department of Health
