- Since 1999, Bemidji Area Schools has provided school buses
to Beltrami County Emergency Management to use as warming shelters for firefighters, collecGon points for volunteers and for transportaGon of disaster vicGms.
- In December of 2014 plans were developed to create a
Mobile Emergency OperaGons Center (MEOC) for use by the school district, fire departments and county emergency management.

- In the summer of 2015, Bus 99 was reGred from service as a
special needs bus and transformed into a MEOC to support school district and community’s incident commanders with the ability to manage and miGgate events ranging from natural disasters, major accidents and incidents, through a rapidly deployed interoperable communicaGons suite and emergency response support.
