Background - 2016 • OUD recently identified as public health crisis in Pennsylvania • Recent marked increase in heroin overdose hospital admissions (~66% increase over 2014) and in-hospital deaths statewide (9.4% in 2016) • OUD rate during pregnancy currently unknown • Variable treatment and LOS for neonates with NAS • Pennsylvania without a perinatal collaborative to improve care and outcomes to women and infants. • AAP in favor of collaborative 3

  4. Pilot Project Goals • Establish a perinatal collaborative structure in north central and northeastern Pennsylvania • Improve perinatal identification and treatment of OUD in pregnant women • Improve medical care to infants with NAS 4

Clinical Objectives • Identify the incidence of OUD during pregnancy • Measure the show rate for prenatal appointments • Measure the referral rate to treatment programs • Determine the % that remain in treatment for one year • Measure the use of long acting contraception in the post-partum period • Identify infants treated for NAS • Identify treatment methods utilized in infants with NAS • Measure the show rate for well-child visits during the first year of life. 6

Pilot Project - Key Performance Indicators • Establish a Regional Perinatal Collaborative Network • Improve compliance with prenatal appointments in pregnant women with OUD • Reduce NICU admissions and LOS for NAS patients • Improve compliance of well child visits up to 12 months of age for neonates diagnosed with NAS 7
