I-75 Express Service Travel Time Analysis

Travel Time Influencing Factors

  • Length of express lanes served
  • Expressway congestion (travel

segments not in express lanes)

  • Access to and from Park & Rides and

station locations (E.g., Palmetto Station, MIC)

  • Level of Service (LOS) in express

“managed” lane facility Best & Worst Travel Time Estimates

  • Travel time comparisons to Google

travel times

  • Best times reflect optimal conditions

(anticipated LOS reflecting best Google travel times

  • Worst times reflect elevated

congestion conditions (elevating LOS a minimum of two levels, e.g., LOS C to LOS E)

Draft I-75 Express Service Observations

  • Managed express lanes should allow for reliable travel times while using the

facility

  • Alternative 1 may serve as an eventual replacement to the 595 Express (110/114)
  • BB&T Center PnR to Government Center – 58 to 71 minutes (AM SB Trips)
  • Government Center to BB&T Center PnR – 61 to 69 minutes (PM NB Trips)
  • Alternative 2 appears to be the cheapest service to implement
  • C.B. Smith Lot could be added with potential BAT lanes to the Pines Blvd Lot
  • Alternative 3.1 may be more reliable than Alternative 3
  • Additional use of managed lanes and slip ramp to MIC from Dolphin Expressway
  • Dolphin Expressway Bus on Shoulder candidate?
  • Alternative 3 could become more reliable with signal progression and/or TSP on 36th Street
