Project History

Agreement reached in which TxDOT will construct an extended frontage road including a bridge crossing Johnson Draw and Crockett County will take

  • wnership of RR 1973 and FM 1964.
  • Requested access to Chandlerdale

West via IH10 frontage road.

  • Proposed to take ownership of RR

1973 and FM 1964 in exchange for TxDOT project.

  • Agreed to project with conversion of

frontage road to one-way.

  • Federal regulations precluded using

TxDOT funds for community benefit.

  • Required monetary investment from

the local community (Crockett County).

  • May only construct one-way frontage

roads.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
