Street lighting service

The street lighting service based on the principles of ‘safe and

  • perational’, which means that:
  • Approximately 43,000 street lighting and illuminated sign

assets located on Traffic Routes (ABC roads are scouted on a rolling programme

  • Units on non-Traffic Routes are not scouted and aults are

reported by the community via the CSC

  • Service specification requires that faults are repaired within

Street lighting service

Part Night Lighting

  • Review upcoming in November 2013
  • Removal from PNL

"It is HCC Policy that the conversion of any street lighting column to all night lighting must be related to a public safety concern and where this is the case, that any such request be made via Hertfordshire Police

  • Service. Where an Officer, in support of a resident, believes that all night

lighting is desirable at a location, he or she should make a request to their Chief Inspector. Assuming the Chief Inspector supports the request, the Council will return the light(s) to all night operation accordingly."
