Street lighting service The street lighting service based on the principles of ‘safe and operational’, which means that: • Approximately 43,000 street lighting and illuminated sign assets located on Traffic Routes (ABC roads are scouted on a rolling programme • Units on non-Traffic Routes are not scouted and aults are reported by the community via the CSC • Service specification requires that faults are repaired within 20 working days

Street lighting service Part Night Lighting • Review upcoming in November 2013 • Removal from PNL "It is HCC Policy that the conversion of any street lighting column to all night lighting must be related to a public safety concern and where this is the case, that any such request be made via Hertfordshire Police Service. Where an Officer, in support of a resident, believes that all night lighting is desirable at a location, he or she should make a request to their Chief Inspector. Assuming the Chief Inspector supports the request, the Council will return the light(s) to all night operation accordingly."
