What Is Winlink??

 WL2K is not a computer program itself but a

system of applications compatible with email

 Allows accurate transfer of messages within a

reasonably short time frame

 Uses internet whenever available  Uses radio when non-radio path is not available  Maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers

 Radio and Internet Capable Program  Less expensive alternative to Pactor  Many qualities similar to email  Requires computer, interface and radio

slide-10
SLIDE 10

10

slide-12
SLIDE 12

12

RMS Relay

 Serves as companion program to RMS Packet  Provides temporary storage of local traffic

in the event internet access is lost

 Provides local routing of messages during

internet outage

slide-13
SLIDE 13

13
