• 30 volunteers, 2 with the glycated hemoglobin HbA1c significantly above the reference value ≥ 48 mmol/mol • 27 persons analyzed by using the HALAX intestinal gas sampling technique & 6- sensor system • 7 persons (including 1 having HbA1c above the reference value) used for training the AI based classification algorithm • 20 persons, including 1 having HbA1c above the reference value, used for validation test of the AI based classification algorithm
Deep Computing based analysis of the test data • AI screening algorithm (DS Deep Sensing Technologies Ltd): 100% efficiency and 95% average purity of identifying the diabetes mellitus (DM) cases by the intestinal gas samples only • Strong correlation between the results obtained by using the intestinal and exhaled gas samples (several deep computing approaches used) • Indications that the intestinal gas samples yield more accurate (higher purity) identification of the DM cases – subject to further test with higher statistics
