• Students have harvested and tasted plants and

are usually sent home with a plant of their own

• 12 collapsible chairs and 2 folding tables are

already on site

• Walking School Bus Path directly across from

greenhouse connecting to Fogarty Elementary

• Several raised garden beds along the walkway

with edible berry bushes and cherry trees

• Has a combination of raised beds and in-ground plots
• 19 beds are used by community members who pay a fee to

be part of the garden

• Two bee hives with pollinator plants surrounding
• Outdoor classroom area with chalkboard, partial

roof/shade structure, and limited seating

• Currently very limited space for seating and no shade
• Sankofa Greenhouse, Community Garden, and World

Market area will be up and running in spring 2017 – open to collaboration with RIEEA educators

• 4,500 square foot tree nursery, growing approximately

290 native trees in pots

• Plans to construct outdoor classroom here in Summer

2017, as well as replace fence
