Dear Parents and Students in Kindergarten – 8th Grade:

Our lunch program operates on a debit system – you prepay and deductions will be made each time your child goes through the lunch line. This computerized system uses fingerprint imagery to eliminate identification errors and can pro- vide detailed printouts of student purchases. A price list is attached. Please note that it is only through your support and patronage that we can continue to keep prices down. When deciding how much to prepay, I suggest you look at the menu posted on our website each month (under Parent Resources) and estimate how many days your child will buy full lunch, then add for extra pizza slices, etc. Students in grades K-3 usually don’t spend more than $4.50 per day - one entrée, two sides and a drink. Some 4th and 5th graders average a little more, and middle school students often purchase $6.00 or more. Also consider days they may purchase

  • nly drinks or snacks. You should be able to come up with a reasonable estimate for your child. When the month ends and

you get your statement you will be able to compare your estimate to the actual purchases. If your child spent too much, request an itemized printout of purchases, then discuss it with your child. You may decide to increase your prepay amount for the next month or instruct your child to cut out certain items. (You can request we not issue your child credit; if they run out of money they will not be able to get lunch. You can designate items they may not purchase, and you can also set a daily dollar limit that the child is not to exceed.) If you wish, you may prepay for several months at a time. Even if you plan for your student to bring his/her lunch everyday, we are asking everyone to prepay at least $10.00. Statements will be sent home to everyone at least once a month. During Parent Orientation Day, August 15, please see Bonnie Fice or go to the school office and make a deposit on your child’s account. The account will be ready the first day of school, August 17th.

Dear Parents and Students of PK3 and PK 4:

If you wish to order lunches for a PreK3 or PreK4 student, you must pre-order each month. Lunches are $3.25 (including drink); if you want to order only a drink, it is 1.25. Some children do not eat lunch in the cafeteria - their lunches are made up in the kitchen and taken to the students. If your student has ordered a lunch and is absent, let the cafeteria know before 10:00 a.m. that morning in order to get credit for that lunch.

To All: Parents are welcome to come and have lunch with their child any day. Parents of kindergarten

students are especially invited to come for lunch one day during the first week. Parent Volunteers are also

  • appreciated. If you can help please call and let us know.

We are looking forward to serving you. If your child has a special need, please let us know so we can see that that need is met. If you have any questions please fell free to call (939-1218, ext. 271 or 317 for billing). If it is during the Food Service times please leave a voice message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
