  2.  Please remember that your acceptance to any university program is CONDITIONAL.  You need to continue to do well and receive final grades and IB grades that are close to your current grades and predicted grades in order for the university to actually admit you in the Fall. Universities complete a final check with guidance counselors for marks and behaviour before finalizing admissions.  This means that you need to continue to perform well in your courses and on the exams. We check your effort on the World Exams. GPA boost is dependent on meeting all IB requirements.

  4.  AIS Final exams for students taking Diploma Programme courses occur prior to World Exams from April il 6-10 10 .  Non-Diploma programme courses will have their exams at the end of May as usual.  Most exams have a 5 minute reading time where students are allowed to review the exam prior to starting the actual writing; the exam schedule does not include this extra reading time, if stude udents nts want nt to benefit nefit from m the extra ra read ading ng time e they y will l need ed to arriv ive e early rly. The schedule has been sent to you.  All exams will be in the Art Gallery to prepare you for the exact conditions you will have for the world exams.  All students not enrolled in the full Diploma Programme will l be expe pected ted to return urn to cl classes ses immed ediat iately ely upon n co complet pletion ion of their eir exams ms .

  5.  ONLY Grade 12 Full Diploma Students will be allowed to leave the school during DP AIS Final Exams by showing their badges with pictures at the front gate.  You will receive your badges at the end of the English AIS Final exam on April 6 th .  All other students will only be excused for the time of the exam that they are taking.  Teachers will track attendance by using the seating plans provided for each exam.

  6.  World exams begin on May 5. You have received your individualized exam schedule with your registration confirmation. Pick up your fresh copy at the end of the presentation.  Exams will start at 7:30 for morning exams and at 1200 Noon for afternoon exams.  Please note that some exams are scheduled for Friday. You will be required to attend on those Fridays.  The IB will not reschedule an exam for any reason.

  7.  Students not taking the Full Diploma Programme and Anticipated Candidates in Grade 11 will l be expected cted to attend end their ir non- Dip iploma loma course rses or DP 1 co course rses immediat mediately ely followi lowing g their ir exams ms.  Students will be excused from classes the day prior to their exam so that they can prepare.  If students examine in the morning, they will be expected to return to their classes imme mmediately diately upon completion of their exam. If you have an exam the next day, you may leave school with a pass that you pick up at the end of the exam and leave at the gate.

  8.  You need to wear UNIFORM for all examinations. You will not be allowed to enter the exam room if you are not dressed in proper uniform attire.  Notice to Candidates  Conduct in the IB examinations  All AIS DP Finals will be conducted as World Exams to prepare you for exam conditions in May.  Seating plan for each exam must be followed. (Tent cards with you name and candidate numbers will be on your desk.)

  9.  Instructions MUST be obeyed. The coordinator has the right to expel you from the examination.  Please go to the washroom BEFORE the start of the exams.  DO NOT bring any electronics with you to the exams (other than calculators when they are allowed).

  10.  Candidates MUST arrive in time for the start of examinations.  AIS Finals: Aim to be here by 7:30AM for morning exams and 12:30PM for afternoon exams the latest.  World Exams: Aim to be here by 7:30AM for morning exams and 11:30AM for afternoon exams the latest.

  11.  Read through the answer booklet guide in your examination package.  Practice the exact way that the IB requires you to fill in the boxes.  Only blue or black ink are allowed to be used.  Bring only the approved writing utensils loose or in a clear bag.  No rough notes or scratch paper allowed.  Neatly cross out anything that you do not want marked. No correcting liquid is allowed.

  12.  Only write INSIDE the large pink boxes.  Anything outside this area may not be marked.  If you run out of space, just ask for more IB paper to complete your answers.  Remember, the scripts for the World Exams are scanned and marked by examiners online. They will not be able to see anything that is written outside the box and, therefore, does not scan for your answers.

  13.  Your session number (candidate number) and your name will be on the desk you are assigned to write at on a tent card  Please note you have to write your name with the spelling that is in your passport, which is how your name was reported to the IB  Please write the entire candidate number (with all the zeros): Example: 000657-0032

  14.  Students will be able to access their results on July 6 at 12:30 GMT.  All students are expected to pick up their personal code and password sheet at the end of this presentation so they can access their results once grades are released. Students are encouraged to take a picture of their sheet in case they misplace it.

  15.  If you are not satisfied with the final IB grade, you need to get in touch with me to see if we could request a remarking of your components.  Deadline for making an enquiry is September 15, 2014.  You will be responsible for paying the applicable fees.  Remember, your grade could also go DOWN after an enquiry.

  16.  Requests for results to be sent to universities must be done by students stopping by Mrs. Murray’s office (room 209).  Results are released to universities on July 5 at 12:00 GMT through a secure website to those universities using the online service [most universities subscribe to this service].  For universities that require results in paper form, these documents (transcripts of grades) are printed and sent out in the weeks after results issue according to university deadlines  No more than six institutions worldwide can be selected on the request form, regardless of whether the results are sent in electronic or paper format. Of these six, no more than one institution can be selected from Canada and one institution from the USA.  The deadline for submitting a request for results to be sent to universities is May 1 for all universities outside of Canada and the United States. The deadline for request for results to Canadian and American universities is June 1.

  17.  Universities in certain countries require the IB Diploma Programme Results document (the documents showing the grades the candidates have obtained) to be legalized by the appropriate authority in Geneva, Switzerland.  If legalization of results is required, students must see Mrs. Murray by June 1 and pay the corresponding fee (44 KD) so the request can be sent to the IB.  Legalized documents will arrive at AIS no later than the end of September but often as early as the end of August if ordered by the above deadline.

  18.  Some countries require both the results and the diploma to be legalized.  Check with your university about specific requirements.  The fee is 44 KD if paid by June 1 st .  The fee increases to 66KD after this date. Countries Requiring Additional Information Legalization of Results
