2020 Graduation Requirements

• Minimum of 80 credits
• Plus:
• Applied Skills or Fine Arts 10/11/12
• Career Life Connections 11/12
• 3 Additional Grade 12 courses
• No Provincial Exams or Assessments!

Career Life Connections (CLC) 11

• In grade 11, students were required to complete

CLC 11

• 3 sessions during Collaboration Time
• Assignments posted on Office 365
• Students with an “I” on their final report card are

required to repeat the course this year

• Career Life Education (CLE 10) and CLC 11 are

graduation required courses

CLC 12 - Graduation Capstone Project

• Required for graduation
• A year long project that allows students to:
• showcase an area of interest and
• their goals surrounding that area of interest
• Ideally connected to future career and/or post-

secondary goals

Opportunities exist for everyone!

• Although common criteria for awards are academic

performance, community service, and financial need, scholarships are awarded to students who excel in:

• The emphasis for most scholarships is on recognizing well-

• At least one, sometimes as many as three

students’ qualifications and strengths

• Allow at least 2 weeks’ notice for letters to be

• e.g. “Describe one challenge you have faced in

your life and how you dealt with it” or “Why is education important to you?” or “What is your strongest leadership skill?”

• Make sure your child has completed a Student

Profile

• Profiles are kept secure and private
• Profiles list a student’s academic progress, volunteer

work, work experience, extra-curricular interests, and post-secondary aspirations

• Profiles must be completed for a student to be eligible

for school or district awards

• Check your workplace for scholarships that may

be available
