PUSD Reopening Facilities

Staff and student COVID symptom screening stations, including the processes

and equipment necessary.

  • Automatic hand sanitizing dispensers to be placed in common and high

traffic locations on campus. Six will be given to each elementary school.

  • Electrostatic disinfectant sprayers
  • PUSD has ordered and will be installing upgraded air filters in all HVAC

systems.

A Day in the Life of a Student for On Campus In Person Learning

  • Before coming to school: Staff and students should self-screen at home by checking their temperature to

ensure it is below 100 degrees. Staff and students are to remain at home if their temperature is 100 degrees or above, they have any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, they have had close contact (proximity of less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes with a person diagnosed with COVID-19.

*Student arrivals/check ins will divided by alphabet and based on last name. A - M (example) 8:40 - 8:50 and N - Z (example) 8:50 - 9:00 *ESS students checked in by ESS/Students riding a bus checked in by Bus Driver *All staff and children in 3rd grade and above are required to wear a mask and lower grades are encouraged to wear a mask. *If a staff member or student has a temperature of 100 degrees or above, he or she will be sent home. *Parents walking their child up to the Check In Station are required to wear a mask.

Kindergarten Gate: TK, Kindergarten, & 1st graders Front Gates: 2nd & 3rd graders Playground Gate: 4th & 5th graders

  • Students checking in before the bell rings will report to the playground and be

supervised by staff. The playground will be separated by grade levels. Teachers will promptly pick up students at 8:55 to go to the classroom. (TK & Kindergarten- K Playground; 1st - 5th- large Playground)

  • Students checking in between 8:55 - 9:00 will report directly to their classroom.

School Dismissal 3:10- Students who walk home will be dismissed from their class-

  • room. Staff will monitor students leaving campus.

3:15- Students who ride the bus will be dismissed. Staff will monitor students going to buses. 3:20- Students who are picked up by car will walked the front of the school by their teacher and wait in a designated area for class cohort until their ride arrives.

Current status

All students start virtually until health orders change. Students selecting the In Person Option will be taught virtually by their assigned teacher each day. Students selecting the Virtual Learning Option or the Home School Option will begin as planned, no change to their program.
