  • Introduction and Background: Participants will listen to a

presentation on how the program was created and funded.

  • Implementation: Participants will listen to a presentation on

the logistics involving the planning trip, application request and review processes, orientations and MOU ceremony, and liability preparation.

  • Course Outline and Assignments: Participants will listen to

a presentation on the pre-trip coursework and course assessment during the study abroad.

  • Student Engagement and Fun: Participants will listen to a

presentation on the social media internship, global classroom, and fun excursions.

GMAC Outcomes

  • Participants will be able to identify existing internal institutional, as well

as external community and industry, resources that can connect and support their institution and students to study abroad opportunities.

  • Participants will learn important tangible benefits to students and their

institutions as it pertains to academic performance and retention, completion rates and job placement and success as well as the intangible impacts of exposure to multi-cultural diversity.

  • Participants will be able to identify barriers to the organization and

execution of study abroad trips that will include dialogue on institutional liability and concerns, internal and external perceptions and planning strategies that target and ensure delivery of academic rigor coupled with safe travel.
